On April 21, 2026, an important and productive meeting with students was held at the Tajik University of Innovation and Digital Technologies within the framework of the United Nations Development Programme. The event was organized in close cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan, with the support of the Russian Federation and in partnership with Technohub, and was dedicated to presenting and explaining the national internship programme for young people.
The meeting was attended by representatives of relevant ministries and agencies, including Sharifzoda Dilafruz — Head of the Department of Scientific and Educational Institutions of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan, and Mirzoeva Sabohat — Project Manager of the initiative “Expanding Youth Opportunities through Skills Development and Promotion of Innovation in Tajikistan.” During their speeches, they emphasized the importance of the programme, its objectives, and its main directions.
It was highlighted that in the context of globalization and the rapid development of modern technologies, the role of youth as a driving force of society is increasingly significant. According to available data, young people account for about 70 percent of the population in the Republic of Tajikistan, and this segment of society can make a substantial contribution to sustainable socio-economic development. Therefore, investment in the intellectual, professional, and innovative development of youth is considered one of the key priorities of state policy.
It was noted that the programme covers more than 30 cities and districts of the country and is implemented in cooperation with over 20 private sector companies. Within its framework, extensive internship opportunities are provided for young people, and more than 240 participants — both young women and men — have already gained practical knowledge and experience in various fields, including media literacy, information technology, banking operations, digital skills, entrepreneurship, and applied crafts.
It was further emphasized that the programme not only improves the knowledge and professional skills of young people but also creates a solid foundation for their preparation for labor market requirements, the formation of innovative thinking, and the development of competitiveness in the modern economic environment.
During the meeting, students had the opportunity to ask questions and receive detailed answers, as well as obtain comprehensive information about the participation procedures, requirements, and opportunities of the programme. The exchange of views among participants contributed to the development of their professional outlook and increased motivation toward innovative activities.
In conclusion, it was stated that such initiatives represent a clear example of effective cooperation between the government, development partners, and the private sector. Overall, they provide a strong foundation for strengthening human capital, increasing youth employment, fostering economic development, and enhancing the country’s economic capacity.
The organizers expressed hope that the further implementation of such programmes will significantly contribute to expanding opportunities for young people, increasing their engagement in priority sectors, and advancing the digital economy in the Republic of Tajikistan.
