On the sidelines of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS+20) and the AI for Good Global Summit, held in Geneva, Swiss Confederation, Khurshed Mirzo, Director of the Agency for Innovation and Digital Technologies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, addressed the High-Level Meeting of the Group of Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs) in his capacity as the Coordinator of the Group.
During his statement, Mr. Mirzo presented the common position of the LLDC Group on advancing digital connectivity, implementing the objectives of the Awaza Programme of Action, and strengthening international cooperation. He also highlighted the Republic of Tajikistan's achievements and initiatives in promoting the digital economy, fostering innovation, and expanding the application of artificial intelligence as key drivers of sustainable socio-economic development.
The statement underscored the importance of enhancing digital inclusion, bridging the digital divide, and reinforcing partnerships among governments, international organizations, development partners, and the private sector to accelerate digital transformation in landlocked developing countries.
The participation of the Republic of Tajikistan in this high-level international forum, together with its address on behalf of the Group of Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs), reflects the country's active role in global digital governance and reaffirms its commitment to strengthening international cooperation in support of innovation, digital transformation, and sustainable development.
